Molecular hydrogen is one of the most extensively studied antioxidants in modern biomedical research. Here's the science — peer-reviewed, summarized, and downloadable.
The mechanism, in plain English.
Hydrogen (H₂) is the smallest molecule in the universe. Because of its size, it diffuses past every cellular membrane — including the blood-brain barrier — and reaches sites that larger antioxidants like vitamin C and glutathione physically cannot.
Once inside the cell, H₂ does something almost no other antioxidant does: it's selective. It neutralizes only the most harmful radicals (hydroxyl radicals, peroxynitrite) while leaving beneficial signaling radicals (superoxide, nitric oxide) intact. Other antioxidants suppress all radicals, which can disrupt normal cell signaling.
The result: a daily reduction in oxidative damage at the source — mitochondria, DNA, brain tissue — without compromising the body's natural signaling pathways.
